Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.Tipasheena Ragdolls breeding cats cleared either by parentage or individual testing for HCM and PKD. . My queens are also health checked when their litters have their vaccination, microchip and desex. We attempt to have a litter from our girls approx 9 months apart, resulting in approx 3 litters in 2 years, which is lower than the max of my breeding organisation

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.All our kittens are raised in our home with our 2 Staffies and our grandchildren can over every weekend. By 6 weeks old they have the run of our home. Their mother is with them until the day they leave us.

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.Most of our kittens are sold before they are born or at a young age. If the new owners live in Brisbane we expect them to come up after the kittens have their first vaccination. If they live interstate we are in contact with them from when they commit to buy one of our babies until the baby is home with them.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.All our babies leave Desexed, Microchipped, vaccinated and with 6 week free pet insurance.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.All our babies come with a life time of support from us at Tipasheena.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.We are always here to lend assistance.
