We are based in Sydney and our lives are dedicated to this special breed. We hold Lappie Open Days at our home, for people to meet our dogs, meet ourselves and ask lots of questions. Contact us for full information and to RSVP.

When you adopt an Orical Lappie you receive lifetime support. This includes:
* 10 weeks of one on one coaching support with a qualified dog trainer
* We hold monthly webinars for our puppy owners, where you can ask questions and receive ongoing guidance and advice.
* We also have a Facebook message group for the owners in each litter, where you can ask questions and share photos and news.

Each of our puppies graduate from our 'Super Puppy Program'. This is a unique and specialised training and socialisation program that we have developed to give each puppy the very best start to life.

We have a vibrant and friendly Lappie community in NSW & ACT, with regular Lappie meets and playdates. When you adopt a Lappie, you don't just get a puppy, you get a community.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.All breeding dogs undergo the following testing: - Hip and elbow scored conducted - ACES eye exam pre breeding and every 2 years while being bred - DNA testing through Embark. Results of health testing and data obtained from breed clubs, kennel clubs and ad hoc research is used to guide breeding decisions to ensure the health and wellbeing of Orical puppies.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.Breeders can have a HUGE impact on their puppies development. At this age they are sponges who are ready and eager to learn. We use this time to teach them essential skills for life, to give both them, and you, the very best start together. We have developed the 'Super Puppy Program', drawing from the Puppy Culture, Avidog and numerous Guide Dog Breeding facilities best practises. As part of our Super Puppy Program we provide each puppy with individual and comprehensive socialisation and training to better assist them to assimilate into your family and provide a foundation of skills for their life. Our training includes: Clicker training Focus training Sitting on command Dropping on command Recall (come) foundations Getting them used to sounds such as fireworks, thunder, playgrounds, traffic Getting them used to being examined on a vet table Getting them used to having their nails trimmed Getting them used to being bathed, blow dried and brushed Toilet training Exposure to other animals

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.It is incredibly important to us that our puppies go to the most suitable homes, and that families are matched with a puppy that best suits their needs, wants and lifestyle. To ensure a perfect match, we: - Ask you to complete a comprehensive application form - We will meet with you in person or have a phone call to go through questions you have and provide you with advice - Provide you with our 'Puppy Preparation Checklist', to assist you to prepare for welcoming your puppy. This checklist provides an abundance of resources that we have developed to best assist you in preparing for your puppy.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.Our puppies are sold with a thorough adoption contract that protects the best interests of your puppy. This includes: - A 5 year health guarantee - A desexing agreement - If you can no longer look after your puppy at any time during their life, we will look after re-homing them

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.We provide each of our puppy owners with comprehensive support for the life of their Lappie. This includes: - For each litter we create a Facebook message group for owners to chat with ourselves and each other and ask questions and receive support. This is also a great place to share and receive photos of your Lappie and their siblings. - Support by phone, email or Facebook Messenger
