Lornell Labradors - Adelaide Hills, SA

Labrador Retriever Dog Breeder - Adelaide Hills, South Australia

Lornell is a small kennel of mainly yellow Labradors, situated in the Adelaide Hills of SA. All of my dogs are trained for obedience and the show ring with many awards and titles to their names. My dogs are a major part of my life and as such are part of my family. My dogs are hip, and elbow scored, have been DNA tested and I'm a registered pedigree breeder with Dogs SA and a member of the Labrador Retriever Club of SA, and Victoria.

In addition to breeding for the show ring my dogs are equally suited for the field, tracking, obedience or a happy, loving, faithful companion/best friend.

I'm currently planning a special litter (close to my heart email me for more info) which should be born March 2024- to register your interest please email - Jodie McDonnell email: fablab@adam.com.au

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.Hip and Elbow and all Labrador Genetic testing.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.They are raised in a family environment with visitors daily, all young dogs ( 6-8 weeks) are exposed to people and events.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.Potential buyers are required t fill out a questionnaire, then phone conversation, then i meet them in person-this helps me match individual puppies and their needs to their new owners. New owners can interact with the pups at 4 and 6 weeks. Its important to me that the right pup is matched to the right owner.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.I have a questionnaire prior to meeting potential buyers all pups are sold on a contract.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.by way of a facebook page, email and phone contact
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.Yes, if the new owners circumstances change. I will offer to rehome the pup
