Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.Animals are health tested each year as per Dogs Victoria guidelines. Adult dogs are fully DNA PROFILED. All breeding strategies are strictly adhered to as per Dogs Victoria guidelines.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.Once puppies reach the age of 4 weeks we give them human interaction and expose them to their surroundings. Once vaccinated we allow them to meet our other animals such as the cat, other dogs. Children and new people are then introduced to get them used to being socialized.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.We try to find people with properties that are suitable for the pet. We like to ask about their previous history with animals. We do not sell to anyone who we think is not suitable through our phone calls and emails.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.All new owners sign our sales agreement, Dogs Vic sales agreement, limited registration agreement, microchip transfer paperwork. New owners are sent a puppy pack of 10 pdf documents to cover owning and rearing a puppy/dog.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.Our sales agreement states we will take our dogs back and that we are also readily available to answer any questions from buyers even years afterwards.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.Yes. This is mentioned in our sales agreement which is signed by the new buyer and they have their copy.
