Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Dog Breeder - Brisbane , Queensland

We are a small breeder of Cavaliers located in the leafy western suburbs of Brisbane.

Due to our busy life, we show when time permits at our local Specialty and Kennel Club Shows.

We are dedicated to breeding with the aim of improving each generation ensuring we are breeding within the breed standard.

In 2019 we imported our gorgeous ruby 'Turretbank Smarty (IMP FRA)' who has been a wonderful contribution to our breeding program.

Our Cavaliers are raised inside our home and brought up amongst young children.

We feed a wholesome raw food diet.

Our Cavaliers are DNA tested for Dry Eye Curly Coat Syndrome (DE/CC), Episodic Falling (EF).

Our Cavaliers are cardiologist and ophthalmologist examined and certified on an annual basis.

Enquiries welcome by email in the first instance.

Breeder Questionnaire

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? Do you have sensible, sustainable breeding strategies in place to promote the health of your dogs and puppies?
Yes
We have our Cavaliers hearts checked annually by the cardiologist and eyes checked bi annually by the Ophthalmologist We DNA our dogs for Curly Coat / Dry Eye and Episodic Falling and Degenerative Myelopathy
Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Yes
Our Cavaliers are brought up inside the hustle and bustle of our home amongst young children and our other cavaliers. They are handled by my youngest (4 years of age) from birth. Once weaning begins we take the litter for very short car trips to get them accustomed to vehicles. We use an array of sensory toys and stimulation. We have family and a couple of breeders come over and handle the pups before they leave the litter to their new homes. We are currently investigating the Puppy Culture program for our next litter.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Yes
We provide our puppy sale agreement outlining puppy must not be bred or shown. Puppy must be desexed at 2 years of age (not before due to growth hormones). We do email, phone/ FaceTime interviews with potential puppy buyers.
Question. Is ensuring that your puppies go to the right home a high priority? What type of measures do you take to ensure your dogs and puppies are going to go to loving homes?
Yes
We ask a lot of questions when we screen potential buyers of our puppies. We have an initial puppy questionnaire and if they pass the initial stage, we sent them another questionnaire and speak to them on the phone. We also do a lot of background checks to ensure we are not selling to unscrupulous people.
Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes
Absolutely. We provide life time support and advice for our puppy buyers. It’s important to our breeding program to ensure the health and well-being of the dogs we have bred. We also have a private Facebook group for our puppy buyers only.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a puppy or dog if for some reason the new family are no longer able to care for it?
Yes
We do absolutely everything possible to have the dog in question returned to us. We assess the dog, provide any and all medical needs and depending on the situation we will regime when the time is right for the little dog.
Question. Do you offer pet insurance?
Yes
We use and recommend Pet Plan and they include 6 weeks free insurance.
