Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.There were some problems from the ancestral blood lines of Australian Mists, being Abyssinian and Burmese, however these have been eradicated.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.Kittens are handled from birth with daily weighing and bedding changes. After the first vaccination and microchipping at 8 weeks kittens really begin to explore their enviroment. When they venture out play I will ensure they play with adults and supervised children so they know to look to people as a source of entertainment..Talk with prospective buyer about continuing the socialisation process by playing with and interacting with kittens in predictable, affectionate and non-threatening ways.

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.I will vet prospective buyers for my kittens, asking about their living arrangements and routines and other pets and experience with pets. i will look for buyers who will provide an enriched environment for a cat and not leave it alone for overly long periods of time.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.On day of purchase, I must have transfer form (filled by buyer and posted by me) Guarantee form (I am responsible for up to 3 years if there are any hereditary defects) Microchip form. Vaccination certificate Desexed certificate Kitten rearing guide with details of all dietary and immunisation requirements and responsible pet ownership

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.I would ask my breeding mentor Dr. Truda. Straede for advice if one of my customers was having issues and ensure they got good advice on how best to approach any issues.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.I am a micro-breeder and will be concerned for the welfare of all progeny of my queen/s. If after years there was a cat who needed to be rehomed I would assist in finding a suitable new home for it.

Question. Are you a current member of any breed clubs and/or associations?
