ABOUT LOCKIE

Meet Lockie, a charming 2-year-old Male Am Staff mix who's ready to make a loving addition to your family. With a DNA test showing he's almost 60% Amstaff, Lockie may have the appearance of a tough guy, but he's actually the sweetest softie you'll ever meet. Lovingly cared for and well-mannered, he's undergoing a change due to no fault of his own, and it's certainly not an easy decision to see him leave his current home.

Lockie is not just a looker; he's incredibly well-trained too, boasting a Level 3 Obedience Certificate, which is a testament to his intelligence and ability to follow commands. He's microchipped, desexed, and up-to-date with all his vaccinations, as well as being wormed and heartworm negative. House-trained and with a friendly nature towards kids and other dogs, Lockie is the perfect fit for family life.

A typical day for Lockie includes leisurely finding a shady spot for a well-earned nap, followed by exhilarating afternoon zoomies to burn off some energy. He enjoys a good swim and loves a game of fetch if the mood strikes him. Despite his hefty 45 kg, Lockie is an excellent walker on a lead with a Halti, but he also does just fine with a simple collar.

Lockie is a social being, happy to mix with other dogs during his walks, though he hasn't lived with another dog or cats. He isn't an escape artist, but solid fencing is recommended due to his physical ability to jump a fence for fun games if tempted. Lockie would do well in a home that doesn't leave him alone for particularly long periods, as he cherishes human company. While he's content to sleep outside, he's more than willing to join you indoors as well. Although he is not food aggressive, it is best for him, as it is with most dogs, to have his space to eat without disruptions.

Though he's not fond of loud noises, Lockie has a relatively calm disposition. He'll bark when necessary but isn't prone to constant barking, making him an alert yet peaceful presence in your life. Whether you're looking for a loyal companion to relax with or a friend for active adventures, Lockie's big heart and gentle demeanor make him the perfect canine addition to your life.
