Rising vet costs and pet affordability
The rising cost of living pressures are among the reasons why more pets are being given up at rescue centres across Australia this year. Veticare – a medicare-type scheme for pet owners – is one of the solutions that has been proposed, which would subsidise the cost of vet visits and pet care.
The cost of vet care
We were recently interviewed in a piece that aired on ABC The Drum with the segment now available (below). It was impressive that the issue of rising vet costs and pet affordability was considered topical for the Victorian state election evening episode of this reputable program. Clearly the growing collective advocacy around the importance of companion animals in human health and well-being is gathering momentum and pets are coming into the political arena like never before. Keep up our good work people!!
